Questions
- What has to be on an NDIS invoice?
- Your name or business name and ABN, who it is to (the participant or their nominee), the date of each support, what it was, the hours and rate or a flat amount, the total, and how to pay you. A support item number helps the family claim it under the right category. If you are not registered for GST, say so.
- Do I charge GST?
- Most independent support workers are not registered for GST and do not charge it; supports to NDIS participants under their plan are generally GST-free anyway. This template prints "No GST has been charged" unless you tick the GST box. Check the ATO if you are unsure.
- Is this only for self-managed participants?
- It works for any participant, but self-managed families are the ones who pay you directly and claim it back, so a clear invoice matters most to them. Plan managers accept the same invoice.
